Moderator, journalist, host, influencer
Melek Balgün unites hands-on experience with an academic background, and has wide-ranging knowledge and interests. The former pro player started her gaming career at the Electronic Sports World Cup 2007, but it was as a moderator that she discovered her passion for eSports, one she has remained true to to the present day. In addition to working as a self-employed moderator at events, tradeshows, and conferences, she was also involved in Deutsche Welle’s eSports project as a sports journalist for more than three years. Former German national sprint/relay champion
Anna Kraft – the fastest moderator on German television. The former German national sprint/relay champion became known to a broader public for the first time in 2010 when she began working for the football program “ran” on German television channel Sat1. She followed that up with several long-lasting stints as a moderator on TV channels such as Sky Deutschland, ZDF, and Eurosport. As well as pursuing a career in TV, she is a writer. In August, she announced publicly that she is battling MS. Anna has made it her goal to demystify this illness and wants to inspire courage in others suffering from it. She is in a relationship with football commentator Wolf-Christoph Fuss. The couple have two children and live in Munich.
Riccardo Basile
Talk-show guru
Riccardo Basile is the new sport guru of the talk-show scene. In his younger days, he cheered on footballers like Lothar Matthäus and Didi Hamann from the sidelines; today, they are not just his work colleagues, but also good friends. It was a mix of luck and pluck that got him to TV channel Sky. When one of his friends had to cancel, he was able to attend a panel discussion between Marcel Reif and Uli Hoeneß. After the show, he remained in contact with Marcel Reif and garnered an internship at Sky, where he now works as a field reporter. He has his own YouTube channel, which has notched up several million clicks. (“Meine Geschichte” [My Story]) In it, he visits sporting legends like Dennis Schröder and Rainer Calmund in their homes and chats with them about their paths to success and the world of sport.
